BIOGRAPHY
Miriam Kozak - Violinist & Baroque Specialist
Born in Poland, is an accomplished violinist specializing in Baroque and historical performance. With dual Bachelor's degrees in contemporary and Baroque violin, Miriam is currently pursuing her Master's at the prestigious Haute école de musique de Genève under the tutelage of Chouchane Siranossian, Eva Saladin and Sophie Gent
Musical Journey
Miriam’s musical adventure began at the age of 8. She trained under esteemed mentors in Poland, and later expanded her studies in historical performance. Her deep passion for the violin and Baroque music has led her to numerous masterclasses with prominent figures such as Maxim Vengerov, Leila Schayegh, and Sigiswald Kuijken.

Miriam has performed with various European ensembles and in renowned festivals across Europe, such as:
Musikfest Bremen, Concert d’inauguration Gli Angeli Genève, Biennial Baroque Geneva , Concerts with Kreeta-Julia Heikkilä, Orchestra projects under the baton of Paul Agnew and Andrew Parrot, 50th Anniversary Concert of the Tibet Institute Rikon, in the presence of the Dalai Lama
Chamber music
Miriam’s passion for chamber music has been a central part of her career. She excels in the collaborative nature of small ensembles, which has led to several prestigious awards, including 1st Prize in International Instrument Competition National under the patronage of the Minister of Culture in Russia, 3rd Prize at the International Music Competition in Italy, 1st Prize at Les étoiles sancyberie in France, 2nd Prize National Accordion Music Competition, Poland. She continues to perform with ensembles across Europe, exploring new depths in ensemble playing.
Educational Background
Miriam holds Bachelor's degrees in violin from the Academy of Art in Szczecin and in Baroque violin from the Frederic Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. In 2023, she was awarded the prestigious Young Poland Scholarship, which enabled her to acquire a Baroque violin, further enriching her artistic path.
Teaching and Musical Philosophy
As a dedicated educator, Miriam has been teaching since the age of 17, driven by a passion for guiding students to connect deeply with music. Her approach emphasizes not only technical proficiency but also the joy and emotional depth of playing the violin. She teaches privately and in music schools, ensuring that her students build a solid foundation while discovering their own voice in music.
Instruments
Miriam performs on a range of instruments, including her cherished contemporary violin passed down from her great-grandfather and a replica of an Amati violin, crafted by Jan Jakub Lipiński in 2023. Her versatility extends beyond the violin to include the viola and viola d’amore.
